Märklin’s TRAXX models belong to the Startup range, successor of the former Hobby line.
They are rather simple models. But a few improvements can simply be made.
The first picture shows an unmodified Märklin 36600 on the left and the improved version on the right.
The yellow LEDs have been replaced by white LEDs (Sunny White).
The coupler pocket was removed from cab 1.
The second picture shows the improved model on the left.
The rain gutter over the door was painted black, the brake disks were painted silver. And the coupler pocket was replaced by spare part E345760 to achieve a smaller gap between loco and train.
The third picture shows the improved loco in the rear.
The red wire on the roof is made of red plastics.
With a touch of paint in black, brown, and silver it will look better.
Another option is the installation of a train driver and cab lights.
The factory-installed decoders normally have a free function output that can be used for cab lights.
More details about these and other improvements will be shown in this blog in the future.
